Why is it that many middle aged women who are looking for love are seen as predatory? People assume that it is their last ditched attempt at dating men before sloping off into the twilight world of senior citizenship when people (allegedly!!) have no romantic feelings and want to spend their days knitting and making jam.
As many of you know this is absolute rubbish and women of any age, whether they are fifty or seventy, often want to find a partner for a loving relationship. So why is it that they are prejudiced against?
Well, for a start, any single woman often scares their married friends. People wrongly assume that they are out for their husbands, which most of the time could not be further from the truth. Women need friends of both sexes for mental stimulation and it is sad that old friends often desert them when they are alone.
Secondly, we are primed from some of the media relationships to expect that a woman of fifty will always be after a much younger man. Again, this is just not correct in the majority of cases. A middle aged woman looking for love is much more likely to go for someone the same age or older. After all, she has nothing in common with a young man of thirty and they are unlikely to share common views and interests.
