There are innumerous avenues for entertainment available to us today. Modern technology has evolved very rapidly in the last century. For example, cinema has existed for barely more than hundred years, but developed very quickly in the latter half of the 20th century. It started with silent moving images, and has developed into CGI abundant 3D epics that we see today. Entertainment has certainly gained a different dimension with the advent of the internet. It is as possible to play a game on the internet as it is to watch a funny date video ! Basically, the internet has had a huge impact on the way we do and see things at large. The film industries of the world are tremendously large today. This was not always the case. When cinema was first born, it was silent for the first thirty years, and for a long time, films would be anonymously made. It is only later when they increased in popularity and developed as an art form that people began to think of credits etc. Entertainment is somehow intrinsically connected to social life. If we look at the history of entertainment, we find that it is most types of entertainment provide an occasion for people to get together.
